Most Inclusive Teacher
We are immensely proud of Dr Gill Rutherford for being awarded the University of Otago Students' Association "Inclusive Award" for the fifth year in a row.
"Gill's an absolute legend. Well done you! How lucky I've been to have you as a teacher." agrees Kate McAnelly, one of Gill Rutherford's students who is currently completing her studies in Early Childhood Education.
The award recognises staff who go ''out of their way to create an inclusive and equal environment for disabled students''. Special mention was also made of Mr Tony Zaharic in this category.
Gill is an active IEAG member, volunteering her time to deliver our Inclusive Education Seminars, and as a governing committee member for many years.
Congratulations Gill, well deserved!
The other awards presented by the University of Otago Students' Association were:
''Outstanding and enthusiastic contribution to university teaching" presented to Dr Kristin Hillman
"Top tutor/laboratory demonstrator" presented to physics PhD student Malcolm Smeaton.
